  3. Measure Between the Lugs: Place the caliper or ruler between the inside edges of the lugs (the part of the watch case where the strap is attached).
  4. Record the Measurement: Note the distance, which is typically measured in millimeters. This measurement is the lug width.

Measuring the Buckle Size:

  1. Locate the Buckle: Identify the end of the strap where the buckle is attached.
  2. Use a Caliper or Ruler: Use a digital caliper or a ruler to measure the inside width of the buckle where the strap is attached.
  3. Measure the Inside Width: Place the caliper or ruler inside the buckle, measuring the distance between the inner edges.
  4. Record the Measurement: Note the distance in millimeters. This measurement is the buckle size.

Example:

  • If the distance between the lugs measures 20mm, then the lug width is 20mm.

To determine if a watch is suitable for curved straps, draw a straight line between the holes on both sides where the strap attaches. If this line is less than 3mm away from the watch case, a curved strap is appropriate. Otherwise, a straight strap is more suitable.
